BEFORE MAKING THE DECISION TO TRYOUTPLEASE READAND UNDERSTAND THE INFORMATION BELOW:

1. You will be present at ALL practices, games, and competitions.
Plan to practice a minimum of 3 days a week, plus games. All practice and games are MANDATORYExceptions will not be made for vacations or other commitments. Per State Regulation, all athletes must attend a MININUM of TEN (10) practices in order to be eligible to participate in the first game/activity. Any athlete who does not meet this requirement will be benched for games until it has been met.

Further details regarding practice schedule will be discussed at first day of tryouts. Your team schedule can be viewed on our website www.ophscheer.com.

2. You acknowledge the cost associated with a competitive cheerleading program. Below you will find a
breakdown of anticipated start-up expenses.  Please be prepared to pay the applicable amount the first day of practice if you make the team. 
EQUIPMENT EXPENSES **Expect to PAY IN FULL BY November 20th, 2017**
OPHS provides a vest, skirt, warm up jacket, warm up pants. These items are returned to the school at the end of each season. Each girl is responsible for purchasing the following items. Cheerleaders will need the following:
Bodysuit: $75 brand new (You can purchase a used one from a JV/former Modified athlete if possible)  
Black spandex: $15 (do not need to buy if you already own)
Practice gear: $55 (If purchased last season, then you do not need to again)
Game bow: $10  (If purchased last season, then you do not need to again)
Competition bow: $25-$30
Cheer sneakers: $55  (If purchased last season already, then you do not need to again)
Backpack (optional): $30

3. The Orchard Park Cheer Program will be holding a series of fundraising events throughout the season to help with team costs. Wewill be participating in these events.

4. You will abide by the OPHS Code of Conduct and the OPHS Co-Curricular Policy.

5. Competitions dates: Please mark these on your calendars now. Competitions are MANDATORY to attend, NO exceptions.
Quaker Cheer Challenge- January 14th 2018
North Tonawanda Cheer Competition- January 20th 2018
ECIC Winter Cheerleading Championship- January 27th 2018

In order to be eligible to tryout for the team please make sure you have an updated physical turned into the middle school nurse and make sure you are registered through the OP parent portal!
