Winter Season Calendars

Due to the crazy weather of last week, both teams have had to make several adjustments to their December practice schedules. We appreciate your cooperation as we make adjustments to make sure the girls are competition ready! Please stay in contact with Coach Jill or Coach Lauren for major updates regarding your team, and as always, check the calendar tab! We can't wait to see everyone December 1! Don't forget to stretch, practice chants, and be ready to WORK!

First practice is WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 12, 4-5:30p at EGGERT. Shuttle bus leaves at 3:50 Baker Side.

Winter Season Tryout Meeting

ATTENTION: All 7th and 8th Graders!!

At this time, we are allowing 7th and 8th graders to try out for JV ONLY. Orchard Park High School requires that you pass the New York State Selective Classification Testing in order to be eligible to try out for a JV team. You must pass the physical test at the middle school on October 22, 2014. Here are the steps to participate:

1. Turn in the Selective Classification Permission slip to the Athletic Department by OCTOBER 17. You can download the form here:

2. Attend the Middle School winter physical session on Tuesday, OCTOBER 21 from 2:30-3:30 in the middle school nurse's office

3. Complete Selective Classification testing on Thursday, OCTOBER 23 at 2:45pm in the Middle School Aux Gym. If you did not turn in a permission slip and valid physical you may not participate. You must meed the criteria for Girls JV Gymnastics (see below).

JV Schedule Changes

Effective the week of Homecoming only, JV will practice the following days:
Monday: Tumbling Tuesday: OFF Wednesday: 4-7:30 (4-5:30 float decorating, 5:30-7:30 pep rally preparation) Thursday: Practice 4-6:30 EGGERT, NO GAME Friday: Pep Rally, Meet at 4pm in high school wrestling room Saturday: Parade, Carnival, Varsity game. Meet at OPMS at 8:30am.

Homecoming weekend timeline

Pep Rally: Friday September 26: 6-7 PM. in the gym (high school students only)
·        JV and Varsity CheerleadersPowder Puff: Friday September 26: 7:15-9:30 PM. at the stadium.
·        Tickets will be sold at the gate and in the high school before and after school and during lunch periods for a discounted cost….BUY EARLY and save! Homecoming Parade: Saturday September 27: 10-10:30 AM. 
·        Everyone is welcomed to walk or be in the parade. Contact the high school if you have a group you'd like to involve! Homecoming Carnival: Saturday September 27:10:30 AM -1 PM
·        Free for everyone, all ages welcomed. 
·        In the Athletic field parking lot. 
·        Carnival games: Prizes for all, Free popcorn and cotton candy. 
·        Bounce house, obstacle course, Mechanical Bull, Berry go Round and Ferris Wheel!

Varsity Game Rescheduled

Tonight's Varsity game against Frontier has been postponed until TOMORROW, SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 6, 6pm at FRONTIER. We will meet at OPHS for the bus at 5pm. The game will resume with approx 7:00 left in the second quarter and Quakers will attempt the extra point! The score is currently 27-0 OP

Orchard Park Cheerleading Equipment Expenses

OPHS provides vest, skirt, warm up jacket, warm up pants and two (2) poms. These items are returned to the school at the end of each season. Each girl is responsible for purchasing the following items. Most of items will carry through entire cheer career. JV AND VARSITY: 2014 Football Season


Congratulations to the 2014 Football Season Cheer Squad!

Our first practice is Thursday, August 21st from 8-12 PM at Eggert Elementary! Please arrive on time ready to work with your hair up, sneakers on, and practice gear on.  Please remember to bring water and snack!

Selling your bodysuit

Car Wash Tomorrow!

Please meet at Valvoline at the Five Corners (Southwestern and Union) by 10:00! Please bring buckets, sponges, soap, etc labeled with your name so we can return it to you! Remember to wear your OP colors and show support! Spread the word, washes for donations!

Tryout Camp - UPDATED

Tryout Clinics from Every Tuesday and Thursday from 9am-12pm! 
Please meet us at the football field with water, sunscreen, snacks, and a great attitude!!

Car Washes!!

There will be two car washes during the summer to help raise money for our choreographer and music! Please plan to attend ATLEASTONE day!!Saturday, July 26 from 10-2

UPDATED: Open Tumbling

Anyone interested in trying out should plan to regularly attend our open tumbling at Buffalo Envy EVERY WEDNESDAY from 4-5pm starting JULY 9. The cost is $6 per class. You will have the chance to work with tumbling coaches every week!

2014-2015 Tryout Meeting

We will be hosting an informational meeting on FRIDAY, May 30 at 3:00pm at Orchard Park High School. This meeting is open to anyone 9th-12th grade in the Fall 2014.
We will be discussing team expectations and requirements for our upcoming season.

UPDATED Middle School Information Meeting

Open informational meeting for CURRENT 7th and 8th Graders!

We will discuss what to expect at tryouts and the upcoming OPHS Cheerleading season!! See you then!!

**There will be a MANDATORY parent meeting for all middle schoolers on June 4 @ 6pm at OPHS to discuss Selective Classification details, team expenses, commitment, etc.**

New for 2014-2015!

Beginning Fall 2014, OPHS Cheerleading will allow currently enrolled 8th graders at Orchard Park Middle School to tryout for a spot on the Junior Varsity team. All interested students are subject to passing NYS Selective Classification requirements. Please visit for additional details. Testing dates will be posted as they become available.

All 8th graders will be held to the same attendance and commitment policies as high school members. Please check back regularly for updates regarding schedules and other important dates.

Hs Session begins at 2:40 pm and awards are at 4:00. (ALL athletes are required to stay through the awards ceremony even if they are riding home with parents)
Varsity warm up: 2:25 perform: 2:55
Jv warm up: 2:40 perform: 3:10. 
*bus will meet on Freeman side at 1:00 pm and arrive back around 5:15. 

ECIC Competition 2/9/14
Afternoon sessions begins at 1:05 pm and awards are at 3:10 pm. 
Jv warm up: 1:00 perform 1:40
Varsity warm up: 1:05 perform: 1:45
*bus will meet on Freeman side at 11:00 am and should return around 4:15. 

Both competitions are being held at Tonawanda High School. 600 Fletcher street, Tonawanda, Ny 14150. Parents can park@un the main parking lot off Fletcher.

Cheer for the Cure info

Our next cheer competition is Sunday,  February 2nd at Conference Center Niagara Falls ( will meet for the bus at 7:45am, bus will depart at 8:00am.JV warms up at 9:25 and performs at 9:55
Varsity warms up at 10:35 and performs at 11:05Awards are scheduled for 12:00As usual, girls should arrive on the bus in full uniform,  hair and makeup. Notes must be turned in before we departed from the high school. Admission is $5/person Parking- Street parking is available on 2nd and 3rd Street. There is paid parking on 3rd & Niagara Street and also on Rainbow Blvd. Paid parking is $5

Fredonia Competition 1/26/14

Our first competition is this weekend,January 26, 2014 at SUNY Fredonia. The JV division is scheduled to beginat 2:30pm. The competition will take place inside Steele Hall Field House on FSU campus. Directions to Steele Hall can be found here. Admission is $7.00/adult, $3.00/child or student. Parking is free.
This competition is notorious for running late but I will be sure to keep you informed as the day goes on of any changes. 
Cheerleaders MUST ride the bus to competition with the team. We will meet at the Freeman side of the high school at 12:00pm. The girls should arrive wearing full uniform: bodysuit, shell, spankies, warm up jacket, black warm up pants, competition bow, and full hair and makeup. Skirts and cleaned competition shoes should be kept in their bags; they may wear Uggs or other boots until we arrive in Fredonia. We will provide the team with socks for this weekend. 
JV will warm up at 1:55 and performat  3:44
Varsity will warm up at 3:30 and perform at 5:00 Awards 5:45

Practice change

Practice on Saturday 1/18 has been changed to Satuday 1/25 from 9:00-12:00 in the high school cafeteria. This is a dress rehearsal for our first competition. So please wear black under armor shorts and grey op tees with competition bow with high ponys. Thanks!
